A decal on the unit may display a code or date, depending on when it was manufactured.
Older Units: On older ECHO® products, the manufacturing date code can be found on the "IMPORTANT ENGINE INFORMATION" decal. The code consists of one letter followed by two numbers. The letter represents the month: A = January, B = February, C = March, D = April, E = May, F = June, G = July, H = August, I = September, J = October, K = November, L = December. The two numbers indicate the year, for example, 05 = 2005, 06 = 2006, and so on.

Newer Units: On many current ECHO® products, the manufacturing date is displayed on the "EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION" decal, showing an abbreviated month and the year
If the serial number has 12 characters, it may be possible to look it up in Powerlink to find the exact manufacturing date. For older units with 6- or 8-digit serial numbers, no records are available. For ECHO® 58V products, if the serial number does not appear in Powerlink, the unit was shipped by TTi and ECHO® will not have a record. The first two letters of the serial number indicate the factory where it was made. The first two numbers represent the year of manufacture, the next two numbers indicate the week of the year, and the following number represents the day of the week, starting with Sunday. For example, in serial number EU15073N150112: "15" = 2015, "07" = 7th week of 2015, and "3" = third day of the week (Tuesday). The manufacturing date for this unit is February 17, 2015.
