A spark plug gap is the small distance between the center electrode and the ground electrode of a spark plug. This gap controls the spark that ignites the fuel-air mixture in a gas engine. If the gap is too small, the spark may be weak, causing poor combustion and hard starting; if it’s too large, the spark may not jump consistently, leading to misfires.
Gas-Powered Engines: The spark plug gap for all gas-powered ECHO® engines is 0.24"-0.26" or 0.6mm-0.8mm.
Battery-Powered Engines: Battery-powered ECHO® engines do not use spark plug, so there is no spark plug gap to set.
