Can ECHO® products be operated in the rain/snow?

Gas-Powered Engines: Generally, a gas-powered engine should not be operated in or exposed to rain, snow or moist conditions. Water entering a product will increase the risk of electric shock. Operation on wet surfaces reduce traction and increate the risk of slips and falls. Any product failures from water/moisture are not covered under warranty. Generators should not be used in the rain unless there is some "shelter" from the rain. Rain can damage the electronics of the generator and lead to life-threatening accidents. There are generator tents that are commonly sold as an accessory that will cover the top portion of the generator, protect it from rain and prevent any rain from getting into the electronics. Unfortunately ECHO® does not sell generator tents, but they are available through some dealers.

Battery-Powered Engines: All battery-powered ECHO® products are designed to be IPX rated for a certain level of water resistance but should not be used in situations where excessive moisture can create product functionality issues and may void the warranty. IPX ratings, warning, and recommendations for use are outlined in the operator's manual.
